According to CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention):

 

  • Every day, about ten people die from unintentional drowning.

  • About twenty percent of these people are children 14 years old or younger. Most of these incidents occur at private pools. In addition to these fatalities, five times as many require emergency care.

  •  Among children between the ages of one to four, drowning is the main cause of death.

  • Among children between the ages of one to fourteen, drowning is the second cause of unintentional injury-related death after motor vehicle accidents.

  • In Israel, ten children ages one to four died last year from drowning.
